The GLI Lifestyle Program
The Combined Lifestyle Intervention (GLI) program helps people with overweight. Through individual coaching and group workshops, you work towards a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. The GLI program is accessible and conducted under the guidance of healthcare professionals. Participants receive support from lifestyle coaches, dietitians, and physiotherapists. From improving nutrition and increasing physical activity to managing stress and enhancing sleep, everything is covered in the Combined Lifestyle Intervention.

What does the Combined Lifestyle Intervention offer?

Who is the Combined Lifestyle Intervention for?
Referral to the GLI is possible if participants are willing to actively work on their health and meet the following criteria:

BMI
BMI 25-30 with an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases (e.g., hypertension, dyslipidemia) or type 2 diabetes.
BMI 25-30 with an increased risk of conditions such as osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, an enlarged waist circumference (≥ 88 cm for women, ≥ 102 cm for men), or cardiovascular risk.
BMI ≥ 30

Age
From 18 years old.
16 or 17 years old with a moderately increased weight-related health risk.
Under 18 years old: a special GLI program for children is available.

Referral by a general practitioner or medical specialist
To participate in the GLI program, a referral from your general practitioner or a medical specialist is required. This can be sent via Zorgdomein. Once the referral is received, the Combined Lifestyle Intervention will contact you. We will schedule an initial consultation at a nearby location. There are no waiting times – a healthier future starts now!

GLI costs
The GLI program is fully covered by the basic health insurance. It does not count towards your deductible. Participation in additional exercise training is optional and comes with additional costs.
